Driving Question

"How can I successfully become an Ethical Dog Breeder?"

Project Introduction

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, old and young, dog and cat, to the world of ethical dog breeding, veterinary medicine, dog Training, dog sports and most importantly dogs! Lavender is my dog and the main pup in this project.she is a 4-year-old, light yellow, Labrador Retriever. She weighs around 50 pounds and is from a show-line x field-line breeding. she has the drive of a field-line and the temperament of a show-line as well as the color. all together she is perfect for me. We are a team, and this year we have gone above and beyond and strengthened our bond via Training, activities, and sports. my goal is to become an ethical dog breeder before I graduate high school, and I'm well on my way!

This is a stage that was packed to the brim with necessities for an ethical breeding program. Firstly I enrolled in a Great Salt lake dog training club coarse to get a CGC title for my Lavender. After the successful earning of it, I booked an appointment to have her Hips/Elbows radiographed and scored as to see her breeding candidacy. We were very active during this time and her body was in peak condition.

This is the I decide to take on dog fosters for the 6th time. they are both lab mixes and incredibly sweet dogs. they made me very stressed however I still love them. unfortunately Dodge (medium yellow Dog on the far left) had to be euthanized on 3/6/24 which did really hurt but he took a piece of my heart with him as he crossed the rainbow bridge. Zinnia is still up for adoption and would love to have her own couple to give her loves.

When the snow comes and goes less frequently and it stays a little warmer, that is when it was dodges time, he helped me reflect and grow I appreciate what he had done for me and I am sorry I couldn't save him. on the brighter side I  went to Virginia  M. Erickson's property and learned about dog training and how to make lavender into a hunting master!

We are currently in March and that means that I have really started to train lavender to do hunt tests. I have yet to do anything with actual birds but she should ace it. we have many things planned in April, we will be getting at least 2 more titles on her. Once she comes into heat that is when we will breed her, here's the catch... it will be a surprise heat as we didn't test in order to see when the Estrus cycle begins.
